Through the year
Beyond weekly Shabbat, Shira comes together for Jewish holidays, learning, celebration and connection throughout the year.
Services for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Pesach, Shavuot and other holidays bring the community together to mark the Jewish calendar.
Diverse guest speakers and scholars join Shira through the year for drashot, panel discussions, shiurim and community conversations on a wide range of topics.
Shared Shabbat and festival meals bring members and visitors together around the table for food, song and connection.
Music nights, film screenings, book discussions, art exhibitions and other cultural programming reflect the creative life of the community.
Shira's annual kids' Purim party brings costumes, games, food and festivities for the younger members of the community.
Social events, volunteer initiatives and informal get-togethers keep Shira connected beyond Shabbat services.
Bnei Mitzvah
Shira's Bnei Mitzvah program brings together ritual preparation, learning, inclusion and social action. Girls and boys are encouraged to read Torah and speak before the congregation, with families supported throughout the process.
